Colourful textiles, intricate beadwork, symbolic ornament and ceremonial dress reveal traditions shaped by place, history and community. The collection honours the knowledge carried between generations and the many ways cultural identity continues to be expressed, preserved and shared.
Warrior Traditions
ANCIENT STRENGTH
Warrior traditions have emerged across civilizations as expressions of discipline, duty, protection and social order. This exhibition explores the people behind those traditions, from highly trained samurai and ceremonial guards to warriors shaped by vastly different cultures and eras. Armour, weapons, dress and insignia reveal systems of rank, craftsmanship and identity, while the portraits look beyond conflict to the individuals who carried these responsibilities. Together, the works examine courage, loyalty and sacrifice.
