PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Three in the Patch captures three young piglets nestled together among sprawling vines and ripening pumpkins in the warmth of late-afternoon light. Two have settled comfortably against the dry earth while their companion has climbed partly across them, creating a wonderfully untidy little heap of pink bodies, folded legs and oversized ears.
Around them, the pumpkin patch provides a richly textured setting. A large orange fruit rises immediately behind the group, while smaller pumpkins appear between broad leaves and twisting stems across the surrounding ground. The vines weave naturally through loose soil, stones and fading vegetation, suggesting a patch approaching the end of its growing season.
Low sunlight streams through the foliage from behind, illuminating the translucent pink of the piglets' ears and catching the fine hairs across their pale skin. Warm orange pumpkins, earthy browns and deep greens surround the softer pink tones of the animals.
Rather than presenting the piglets individually, the composition celebrates their instinctive closeness, capturing the wonderfully uncomplicated comfort of three young animals content to turn one another into the perfect place to rest.

BACKGROUND AND HISTORY
The Domestic Pig (Sus scrofa domesticus) is an intensely social animal, and this tendency towards companionship begins almost immediately after birth. Piglets are born into litters and spend their earliest weeks in constant proximity to their mother and siblings, creating social relationships that influence how they rest, feed, play and explore.
Physical contact is particularly important during rest. Young piglets commonly lie pressed against one another, sometimes forming dense piles in which bodies overlap and individuals use their siblings for warmth and security. This behaviour is especially valuable when they are very young because newborn piglets have relatively little body fat and are less capable of regulating their temperature than adult pigs.
Life within the litter also provides some of a piglet's earliest social lessons. Youngsters chase, nudge, wrestle and investigate their surroundings together, gradually developing the communication and social skills characteristic of pigs. Their remarkable sense of smell and highly sensitive snouts allow them to investigate soil, vegetation and unfamiliar objects through persistent rooting and exploration.
As they grow, pigs continue to seek social contact and generally prefer resting near familiar companions. The little heap among the pumpkins therefore reflects something fundamental about the species, for a young piglet, a sibling can be playmate, source of warmth and comfortable pillow all at once.

We use Australia Post for all domestic and international shipping, with delivery times varying according to destination, carrier demand and customs process where applicable. As we are based in Western Australia, delivery typically takes approximately 2–4 business days within Western Australia and 3–6 business days for interstate destinations within Australia following dispatch.
