PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Summer Mischief captures four young puppies converging upon a garden sprinkler as arcs of water scatter through the warm afternoon light. Each youngster responds differently to the unexpected movement: one approaches from the edge of the lawn, another bounds forward with a raised paw, while two companions investigate the sprinkler at close range. Together, their varied expressions and postures create a lively portrait of shared curiosity and spontaneous play.
The puppies are surrounded by a lush green lawn bordered by flowering shrubs in soft whites, pinks and violet. Behind them, low sunlight filters through the garden canopy, illuminating thousands of suspended droplets and transforming the spray into a shimmering veil across the scene. Wet fur, lifted tails and outstretched paws convey the energy of the encounter, while the sprinkler itself remains at the centre of their attention. Rather than focusing upon a single animal, the composition celebrates the animated interaction of the group, capturing the exuberance, uncertainty and irresistible curiosity with which puppies encounter something new together.

BACKGROUND AND HISTORY
The Domestic Dog (Canis lupus familiaris) begins practising many important adult social skills through play. During puppyhood, chasing, wrestling, pouncing, mouthing and investigating unfamiliar objects provide far more than entertainment. These interactions help developing dogs refine physical coordination while learning how their own behaviour affects the animals around them.
Successful social play depends upon communication. Puppies use characteristic movements and postures, including play bows, exaggerated approaches and rapid changes of direction, to distinguish playful behaviour from genuine aggression. When interactions become too rough, another puppy may withdraw or respond vocally, providing immediate feedback. Through repeated encounters, youngsters gradually learn to moderate the force of their mouths, recognise when another animal has had enough and adjust their behaviour accordingly.
Novel objects can add another dimension to this learning. Moving water, unfamiliar sounds or unpredictable motion may initially provoke caution before curiosity encourages investigation. Encountering such experiences alongside other puppies can promote exploration and confidence. In this way, apparently chaotic puppy play contributes to the development of communication, coordination, behavioural flexibility and the social understanding required for life among both dogs and people.

We use Australia Post for all domestic and international shipping, with delivery times varying according to destination, carrier demand and customs process where applicable. As we are based in Western Australia, delivery typically takes approximately 2–4 business days within Western Australia and 3–6 business days for interstate destinations within Australia following dispatch.
