PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Rocked to Sleep captures a young Golden Retriever sleeping peacefully upon the cushioned seat of a weathered wooden rocking chair. Stretched across a stack of faded floral cushions, the puppy rests its chin between its small forepaws, eyes closed and body completely relaxed. Its pale golden coat catches the late-afternoon light, revealing the soft, slightly tousled texture characteristic of early puppyhood.
The chair itself carries the marks of age. Cream paint has worn away from its curved arms, spindles and rockers, exposing darker timber beneath and creating a gentle contrast with the delicacy of the sleeping puppy. Around it, climbing roses spill across the veranda in soft pink blooms, while scattered petals lie across the aged wooden floorboards.
Beyond the chair, potted lavender and additional roses dissolve into the glowing garden. Warm sunlight enters from the upper right, filtering through foliage and bathing the veranda in gold while leaving the puppy comfortably sheltered within softer shade. Quiet and intimate, the composition captures an ordinary moment of complete contentment at the end of a young puppy's busy exploration.

BACKGROUND AND HISTORY
The Golden Retriever (Canis lupus familiaris) develops at remarkable speed during puppyhood, and sleep occupies a substantial part of this early life. Young puppies may spend much of each twenty-four-hour period asleep, alternating short bursts of feeding, play and exploration with frequent periods of deep rest. Far from being inactivity, these long sleeping periods accompany some of the most rapid physical and neurological development the dog will experience.
During the first months, a puppy is continually encountering unfamiliar smells, sounds, surfaces, objects and social interactions. These experiences place considerable demands upon a developing nervous system. Sleep supports the processes through which newly acquired information is consolidated, while rest also accompanies physical growth and recovery following energetic bouts of play. This helps explain the familiar pattern of a lively puppy appearing intensely active before suddenly settling into sleep.
As Golden Retriever puppies mature, their periods of wakefulness gradually lengthen and their daily routines become more closely aligned with those of their household. Rest nevertheless remains particularly important throughout juvenile development. Behind the apparent simplicity of a sleeping puppy lies a body and brain undergoing continual change, preparing the youngster for increasingly coordinated movement, complex learning and the highly social adult life characteristic of the breed.

We use Australia Post for all domestic and international shipping, with delivery times varying according to destination, carrier demand and customs process where applicable. As we are based in Western Australia, delivery typically takes approximately 2–4 business days within Western Australia and 3–6 business days for interstate destinations within Australia following dispatch.
