PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Nestled Together captures three young European Rabbits sleeping side by side within a weathered wicker basket. Nestled deeply into a bed of dry hay, the kits have settled shoulder to shoulder, their small bodies curved into almost matching forms and their faces resting gently against the straw.
Warm evening light enters from the upper right, tracing the fine edges of their ears and illuminating the soft tawny fur across their backs. Each youngster is slightly different in posture: one ear folds backwards behind the left kit, the central rabbit rests squarely between its companions, while the smallest on the right curls more tightly into the shelter of the group.
The rough basket provides a richly textured frame around them, its dark woven fibres contrasting with the delicate fur and pale strands of hay. Behind the sleeping trio, an aged timber wall and softly blurred white flowers recede into shadow, while golden light spills across the surrounding floor.
Quiet and intimate, the composition centres entirely upon rest, warmth and closeness, transforming the old basket into a temporary cradle for three sleeping youngsters.

BACKGROUND AND HISTORY
The European Rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus) is highly social, and the importance of physical closeness begins during its earliest days underground. Rabbit kits are unable to regulate their body temperature as effectively as adults, making the sheltered conditions of the nursery nest particularly important while they are still small.
Within a litter, the kits instinctively gather together. This close contact helps conserve body heat, while the nest itself provides additional insulation through dry vegetation and the layer of fur supplied by the mother. Rather than occupying separate spaces, very young littermates commonly form a compact huddle, particularly when the doe is away from the burrow.
The arrangement also reflects an unusual feature of rabbit motherhood. Because the mother spends comparatively little time inside the nursery chamber, her offspring pass much of their earliest development in one another's company. As their fur thickens, eyes open and mobility improves, the tightly packed nest gradually becomes a place of increasing movement and exploration.
These early weeks pass rapidly. Young rabbits soon begin investigating the burrow and its entrances before eventually venturing above ground and feeding increasingly upon vegetation.
For a rabbit kit, however, independence begins within the collective warmth of the litter. Long before it explores the world outside, its first environment is one shared closely with its siblings - a small, insulated community hidden safely beneath the ground.

We use Australia Post for all domestic and international shipping, with delivery times varying according to destination, carrier demand and customs process where applicable. As we are based in Western Australia, delivery typically takes approximately 2–4 business days within Western Australia and 3–6 business days for interstate destinations within Australia following dispatch.
