PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The Sun and the Snow captures an incredibly tender, sunlit moment inside a lush, naturally planted aviary. Perched together upon a moss-covered branch within a lush aviary, a Lutino and Albino Cockatiel rest in quiet companionship beneath a canopy of filtered sunlight. The two birds create a striking visual pairing, their pale plumage glowing softly against the rich greens of the surrounding foliage. The Lutino's warm cream-yellow feathers and vibrant orange cheek patch contrast beautifully with the pure white elegance of the Albino companion. Fern fronds, trailing vines, and weathered timber structures create depth throughout the aviary setting, while soft shafts of sunlight filter through the overhead canopy. The Cockatiel has become one of the most celebrated examples of colour development in companion bird aviculture. While Australia's wild populations display the familiar grey plumage from which the species is best known, decades of responsible selective breeding have revealed an extraordinary spectrum of naturally inherited colour mutations. Among the most admired are the Lutino, with its soft cream-yellow plumage and vibrant orange cheek patches, and the striking Albino, whose pristine white feathers are created through the careful combination of White Face and Lutino genetics.
These elegant colour varieties are the result of generations of dedicated aviculturists who combined a growing understanding of avian genetics with a commitment to maintaining healthy, well-socialised birds. Beyond their visual appeal, these mutations have contributed significantly to scientific knowledge of feather pigmentation and inheritance while expanding appreciation for the remarkable diversity that exists within a single species. As we are based in Western Australia, delivery typically takes approximately 2–4 business days within Western Australia and 3–6 business days for interstate destinations within Australia following dispatch.
