The Morning Expedition captures a lively procession of Yorkshire piglets as they make their way through a dew-laden pasture beneath the soft light of early morning. Scattered loosely across the meadow, each youngster follows its own path while remaining instinctively connected to the group, creating a composition filled with gentle movement and youthful energy. Their pale pink coats catch the warm glow of the rising sun, while tiny flecks of mud upon their snouts and legs hint at the playful adventures already unfolding across the paddock.
The foreground is alive with the textures of fresh grasses, flowering clover, and native meadow plants, their dew-covered leaves sparkling beneath the golden light. The Yorkshire Piglets (Sus scrofa domesticus)
From an early age, piglets are instinctive explorers, using their keen sense of smell to investigate the world around them. In traditional pasture-based farming systems, access to open fields encourages these natural behaviours, allowing young pigs to root through grasses, examine unfamiliar scents, and learn from both their littermates and the surrounding environment. Such early exploration supports physical development, strengthens social interactions, and reflects the intelligence for which domestic pigs are widely recognised. Yorkshire piglets are particularly noted for their active, inquisitive nature, making them well suited to outdoor farming where curiosity can be expressed freely. This piece celebrates the simple joy of discovery, capturing the first confident steps of young animals as they venture into the wider world beyond the shelter of the barn.

Our fine art and canvas prints are produced to order, allowing each piece to be carefully prepared and checked before leaving the studio. Production and dispatch times may vary depending on the print format, size and finishing requirements selected. Please refer to the individual product page for any specific production timeframes.
We use Australia Post for all domestic and international shipping, with delivery times varying according to destination, carrier demand and customs process where applicable. As we are based in Western Australia, delivery typically takes approximately 2–4 business days within Western Australia and 3–6 business days for interstate destinations within Australia following dispatch.
