The English Heritage portrays a peaceful herd of English Longhorn cattle settled within a traditional English pasture, where the warmth of late-afternoon sunlight filters gently through mature woodland. BACKGROUND AND HISTORY
The English Longhorn (Bos taurus) is one of Britain’s historic native cattle breeds, recognised for its long curved horns, varied brindled colouring, and strong connection to traditional farming landscapes. Once valued as a versatile animal for meat, milk, and draught work, the breed became closely associated with mixed farms and natural pasture systems. During the eighteenth century, the English Longhorn played an important role in the development of selective breeding, particularly through the work of early agricultural improvers who helped shape modern livestock practices. Although later commercial breeds reduced its prominence, the Longhorn has remained admired for its hardiness, calm temperament, and ability to thrive on less intensive grazing. Today, the breed is treasured as both a productive farm animal and a living link to Britain’s agricultural past. Its presence in the field carries a sense of continuity, connecting modern rural life with older traditions of pasture, stewardship, and breed preservation.

As we are based in Western Australia, delivery typically takes approximately 2–4 business days within Western Australia and 3–6 business days for interstate destinations within Australia following dispatch.
