PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The Bronze Striker celebrates the alert composure and athletic elegance of one of Australia's most familiar reptiles. Resting amongst sunlit grasses and weathered fallen timber at the edge of an open woodland, the Eastern Brown Snake raises the front of its body into a poised S-shaped stance, its dark forked tongue gently sampling the warm afternoon air. Copper-bronze scales catch the golden light with a subtle metallic sheen, while the surrounding grasses glow beneath scattered eucalypts, creating a scene that is both tranquil and quietly watchful.
Warm sunlight filtering through the woodland canopy contrasts with the soft earth tones of the dry landscape, drawing attention to the smooth curves of the snake's body and its calm, attentive posture. Fallen branches and native grasses frame the composition without overwhelming its central subject, allowing the refined pattern of the scales to become a natural focal point. The artwork captures a moment of quiet awareness, celebrating the confidence and adaptability of a species that has become an enduring part of Australia's open forests and grasslands.

BACKGROUND AND HISTORY
The Eastern Brown Snake (Pseudonaja textilis)
The Eastern Brown Snake (Pseudonaja textilis) is among Australia's most widespread snakes, occurring across open forests, grasslands, agricultural landscapes, and semi-arid regions throughout much of eastern and central Australia. Its success is due largely to its remarkable adaptability and highly developed senses, allowing it to thrive in both natural environments and landscapes modified by human activity.
Although internationally recognised for its highly potent venom, the species typically avoids confrontation whenever possible and will usually retreat if given a clear avenue of escape. It is an active daytime hunter that relies on keen eyesight, chemical cues collected by its forked tongue, and rapid movement to locate prey. Rodents form a significant part of its diet, particularly around farming districts where mice and rats are abundant. By helping regulate these populations, the Eastern Brown Snake performs an important ecological role, contributing to the balance of Australia's grassland and woodland ecosystems.

CONSERVATION INFORMATION.

This design donates to animal and conservation efforts
The Eastern Brown Snake is currently classified as Least Concern and remains widespread throughout much of its range. Its ability to occupy native woodlands, grasslands, farmland, and other modified landscapes has enabled the species to remain comparatively secure despite extensive environmental change across parts of Australia.
Local populations can nevertheless be affected by habitat fragmentation, broad-scale land clearing, road mortality, and deliberate persecution arising from fear of venomous snakes. Although the species has adapted well to agricultural areas where rodents are plentiful, the continued loss of native vegetation can reduce shelter, breeding sites, and movement corridors between suitable habitats. Conserving healthy grasslands, woodland remnants, and ecological connections supports not only the Eastern Brown Snake but the wider communities of reptiles, mammals, and birds that depend upon these environments. As one of Australia's principal native rodent predators, the species plays an important role in maintaining healthy and balanced terrestrial ecosystems.
