The Lusitano (Equus ferus caballus) is one of Europe's oldest saddle horse breeds, with a history extending thousands of years across the Iberian Peninsula. Long before formal breed registries existed, the ancestors of the Lusitano were prized for their agility, endurance, intelligence, and willingness to work alongside people. Throughout Portuguese history these horses became trusted cavalry mounts, working horses, and dependable companions capable of responding calmly and confidently in demanding conditions.
Their remarkable balance, courage, and responsiveness established the foundations of a breed that would become deeply woven into Portugal's cultural identity. Although their traditional roles have evolved, the qualities developed over centuries remain unmistakable in the modern Lusitano.

Our fine art and canvas prints are produced to order, allowing each piece to be carefully prepared and checked before leaving the studio. We use Australia Post for all domestic and international shipping, with delivery times varying according to destination, carrier demand and customs process where applicable. As we are based in Western Australia, delivery typically takes approximately 2–4 business days within Western Australia and 3–6 business days for interstate destinations within Australia following dispatch.
