Queen of the Alps presents a graceful portrait of a French Alpine doe standing confidently upon a rocky alpine meadow overlooking a sweeping mountain valley. Calm and attentive, she occupies the centre of the composition with quiet assurance, her alert expression immediately drawing the viewer into the scene. The French Alpine (Capra hircus)
The French Alpine developed among the rugged mountain valleys of southeastern France, where generations of pastoral communities refined a dairy goat capable of thriving in steep and often unforgiving landscapes. Rather than selecting for appearance alone, breeders favoured animals that combined endurance, agility, dependable milk production, and the ability to make efficient use of seasonal alpine pastures.
As the breed gained recognition beyond its homeland, these practical qualities established the French Alpine as one of the world's leading dairy goats. It spread throughout Europe before being introduced to North America, Australia, and many other countries, adapting readily to a wide variety of climates and farming systems. Its rich, high-quality milk remains highly valued for the production of traditional cheeses, yoghurt, and other dairy products.
Today, careful breeding continues to preserve the athletic build, productive capacity, and dependable temperament that first distinguished the breed. The French Alpine remains a lasting symbol of alpine agriculture and centuries of thoughtful mountain husbandry.

Our fine art and canvas prints are produced to order, allowing each piece to be carefully prepared and checked before leaving the studio. Production and dispatch times may vary depending on the print format, size and finishing requirements selected. Please refer to the individual product page for any specific production timeframes.
We use Australia Post for all domestic and international shipping, with delivery times varying according to destination, carrier demand and customs process where applicable. As we are based in Western Australia, delivery typically takes approximately 2–4 business days within Western Australia and 3–6 business days for interstate destinations within Australia following dispatch.
