Morning Gallop celebrates the remarkable athleticism of the Thoroughbred as it surges effortlessly across a dew-laden hillside at the break of day. Captured mid-stride, the horse's powerful frame is suspended in motion, conveying both speed and graceful precision as it moves through the open pasture. Its sleek bay coat, flowing mane, and streaming tail reinforce the fluidity of every movement, while clods of damp earth and fresh grass rise behind its hooves, adding an unmistakable sense of energy to the composition. BACKGROUND AND HISTORY
The Thoroughbred (Equus caballus) traces its origins to seventeenth- and eighteenth-century England, where breeders sought to develop a horse of exceptional speed, endurance, and athletic refinement. By crossing carefully selected native mares with imported Oriental stallions, including the Arabian, Barb, and Turkoman, they established the foundation bloodlines from which every modern Thoroughbred descends. Over successive generations, rigorous selection produced a horse renowned for balance, efficiency of movement, and an extraordinary willingness to perform.
Although the breed became synonymous with racing, its influence extends far beyond the racetrack. Thoroughbreds have contributed to the improvement of countless other horse breeds and continue to excel in disciplines including eventing, show jumping, dressage, and polo. Their combination of intelligence, stamina, and athleticism has made them one of the most influential equine breeds in history.

Our fine art and canvas prints are produced to order, allowing each piece to be carefully prepared and checked before leaving the studio. We use Australia Post for all domestic and international shipping, with delivery times varying according to destination, carrier demand and customs process where applicable. As we are based in Western Australia, delivery typically takes approximately 2–4 business days within Western Australia and 3–6 business days for interstate destinations within Australia following dispatch.
