PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The Sure-Footed Climber captures a French Alpine goat poised confidently upon a narrow mountain ledge high above a mist-filled valley. Balanced effortlessly against the steep rock face, the goat appears completely at ease within its dramatic surroundings. Warm sunlight illuminates the rich tones of its distinctive coat, revealing subtle blends of cream, fawn, and charcoal while highlighting the fine textures of its hair. BACKGROUND AND HISTORY
The French Alpine (Capra hircus)
Long before modern roads crossed the French Alps, goats enabled mountain communities to utilise steep country that was unsuitable for most other livestock. The French Alpine became especially valued for its remarkable agility, confidently travelling rocky ledges, narrow passes, and rugged slopes in search of nutritious forage throughout the grazing season.
Centuries of life in this demanding environment gradually shaped a breed renowned for balance, endurance, and athletic movement. Strong limbs, secure footing, and an alert awareness of the terrain allowed French Alpines to browse efficiently while conserving energy during long daily journeys across alpine landscapes. These same characteristics later helped the breed adapt successfully to farming systems around the world.
Although internationally recognised today for outstanding dairy performance, the French Alpine continues to reflect the mountain environment that shaped its development. Its confident movement across difficult terrain remains one of the breed's defining characteristics and an enduring reminder of its alpine origins.

Our fine art and canvas prints are produced to order, allowing each piece to be carefully prepared and checked before leaving the studio. We use Australia Post for all domestic and international shipping, with delivery times varying according to destination, carrier demand and customs process where applicable. As we are based in Western Australia, delivery typically takes approximately 2–4 business days within Western Australia and 3–6 business days for interstate destinations within Australia following dispatch.
