The High Country Guardians captures a quiet winter moment as a family band of brumbies gathers closely together amidst the snow-covered landscapes of the Australian High Country. The Brumby (Equus ferus caballus) while Brumbies are often associated with Australia's open plains, some of the country's most celebrated populations inhabit the snow-covered landscapes of the Australian Alps and Snowy Mountains. These elevated regions experience freezing temperatures, heavy frosts, snowfall, and prolonged winters, presenting challenges rarely associated with Australia's climate. Only horses capable of remarkable resilience, efficient foraging, and strong social cooperation have successfully persisted in these demanding environments.
The artwork focuses on the protective nature of the herd during winter. Young foals rely heavily upon the experience of mature mares and the vigilance of the family group, which provides warmth, security, and guidance during periods of environmental hardship. These social bonds allow individuals to respond collectively to predators, severe weather, and changing food availability. The High Country Guardians celebrates this remarkable resilience, portraying the Brumby not simply as a symbol of wilderness, but as a highly social animal whose survival depends upon cooperation, experience, and enduring family relationships amid Australia's alpine landscapes.

As we are based in Western Australia, delivery typically takes approximately 2–4 business days within Western Australia and 3–6 business days for interstate destinations within Australia following dispatch.
