Soft natural light fills a welcoming living space where a Devon Rex is portrayed across three stages of life. Gathered upon a woven blanket spread across polished timber floorboards, the kitten, adult, and senior cat are united by their distinctive features, including large ears, expressive eyes, and gently curled coats. The Devon Rex originated in the county of Devon, England, during the late 1950s following the birth of a kitten carrying a naturally occurring genetic mutation that produced an unusually soft, wavy coat. Unlike other curly-coated breeds, the Devon Rex's distinctive appearance arose from an entirely different gene, establishing it as a unique breed in its own right. From this single foundation cat, careful breeding programs were developed to preserve the breed's remarkable combination of elegance, intelligence, and unmistakable physical characteristics.
Perhaps no feature defines the Devon Rex more than its extraordinary coat. Composed of soft rippling curls rather than the straight guard hairs typical of most domestic cats, the fur creates a delicate texture that is both visually striking and pleasant to the touch. The coat often changes throughout kittenhood before developing its mature pattern of waves, while individual cats may vary subtly in curl density and texture. As we are based in Western Australia, delivery typically takes approximately 2–4 business days within Western Australia and 3–6 business days for interstate destinations within Australia following dispatch.
