Meadow Sprint celebrates the exuberance of youth as a Thoroughbred mare and her foal race together through a meadow bursting with spring wildflowers. Running side by side, the pair move with effortless coordination, the mare's powerful stride setting the rhythm while the young foal mirrors her movements with eager determination. BACKGROUND AND HISTORY
The Thoroughbred (Equus caballus) every Thoroughbred begins life far from the excitement of the racecourse. During the first months after birth, foals spend much of their time running, turning, and playing across open paddocks. These seemingly carefree bursts of activity are essential for developing muscle strength, cardiovascular fitness, coordination, and healthy bone growth. Exercise during this early stage helps prepare the young horse for the physical demands it may encounter later in life.
Foals also develop important social skills while interacting with their mothers and neighbouring horses. Through play, they learn balance, spatial awareness, confidence, and appropriate herd behaviour. These early experiences form the foundation upon which later education and training are built.
Meadow Sprint celebrates this joyful period of discovery, portraying the energetic curiosity that defines youth and reminding us that every accomplished Thoroughbred first learned to run simply for the pleasure of movement.

Our fine art and canvas prints are produced to order, allowing each piece to be carefully prepared and checked before leaving the studio. We use Australia Post for all domestic and international shipping, with delivery times varying according to destination, carrier demand and customs process where applicable. As we are based in Western Australia, delivery typically takes approximately 2–4 business days within Western Australia and 3–6 business days for interstate destinations within Australia following dispatch.
