PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Libra presents a luminous celestial vision of harmony, balance, and timeless elegance through the commanding figure of Astrea as she ascends a grand avenue of ancient marble. Framed by towering classical columns and a radiant full moon, the goddess walks with quiet purpose, lifting an ornate pair of golden scales high above her head beneath a sky alive with stars. Above her, the constellation of Libra glows softly against the heavens, creating a direct connection between the earthly ruins and the celestial realm beyond.

The composition is built upon graceful symmetry, with Astrea positioned at its heart. Her flowing gown of soft lavender, blush rose, and pale ivory catches an unseen breeze, creating layers of movement that contrast beautifully with the enduring solidity of the surrounding stone architecture. Delicate floral borders of roses, bluebells, and pastel blossoms soften the ancient setting, while scattered petals across the weathered pathway draw the viewer gently toward the central figure.

Rich golden ornamentation weaves throughout the artwork, from the intricate scales adorned with luminous gemstones to the elegant jewellery that echoes their refined craftsmanship. Warm moonlight bathes the scene in gentle creams, muted golds, and soft violet tones, lending the composition a dreamlike atmosphere where mythology, architecture, and the night sky unite in a scene of quiet majesty and enduring balance.

CULTURAL CONTEXT AND SYMBOLOGY

Libra is the seventh astrological sign in the zodiac, representing those born between September 23 and October 22.

Among all twelve signs of the Zodiac, Libra is unique. Rather than representing a living creature or mythical being, it is symbolised solely by the scales of justice. Its origins lie within one of Greek mythology's most enduring figures, Astrea, the goddess of justice, innocence and divine order.

According to ancient tradition, Astrea lived among humanity during the Golden Age, when honesty, harmony and fairness governed the world. As mankind gradually descended into conflict, greed and corruption through the Silver, Bronze and Iron Ages, she became the last of the immortals to abandon the Earth.

This piece, depicts the goddess Astrea who walks the earth no longer, driven away by the weight of corruption she can no longer abide. With her, she takes the scales of justice, lifting them beyond a world that has fallen out of balance. In the heavens, Libra remains. An eternal measure of what was lost, and what must be one day restored.
