The Dutch Warmblood (Equus ferus caballus) is one of the world's most accomplished modern sport horse breeds, developed through a carefully planned breeding programme that combined athletic ability, sound conformation, and an exceptional temperament. Following the Second World War, Dutch breeders transformed traditional agricultural horses into elegant performance animals by selectively introducing bloodlines from Thoroughbreds, Hanoverians, Holsteiners, and other distinguished European warmblood breeds. This systematic approach created a versatile horse capable of excelling across multiple equestrian disciplines.
Central to this development is the Koninklijk Warmbloed Paardenstamboek Nederland (KWPN), the Royal Warmblood Studbook of the Netherlands, established to maintain rigorous breeding standards through performance testing, veterinary assessment, and careful pedigree evaluation. Rather than selecting solely for appearance, breeders emphasise rideability, movement, athleticism, and long-term soundness. These principles have established the Dutch Warmblood as a dominant force within international dressage, show jumping, and eventing. Today, the breed is widely regarded as a benchmark for modern sport horse breeding, reflecting generations of scientific selection combined with an enduring respect for equine welfare and performance.

As we are based in Western Australia, delivery typically takes approximately 2–4 business days within Western Australia and 3–6 business days for interstate destinations within Australia following dispatch.
