The Thoroughbred (Equus caballus), the success of every Thoroughbred begins with the mare. During a foal's earliest months, the mother provides far more than nourishment, serving as protector, teacher, and guide through every stage of development. Mares remain highly attentive to their young, carefully monitoring their surroundings while encouraging the gradual independence that healthy foals require.
This protective relationship also plays an important role in the foal's emotional development. By remaining close to its mother, the youngster gains confidence to explore while always having the reassurance of returning to safety. As the foal matures, the mare slowly allows greater independence, helping prepare it for life within the wider herd. The
Watchful Champion honours this often-overlooked aspect of the Thoroughbred story, celebrating the quiet vigilance and unwavering care that support every future athlete long before formal training begins.

Our fine art and canvas prints are produced to order, allowing each piece to be carefully prepared and checked before leaving the studio. We use Australia Post for all domestic and international shipping, with delivery times varying according to destination, carrier demand and customs process where applicable. As we are based in Western Australia, delivery typically takes approximately 2–4 business days within Western Australia and 3–6 business days for interstate destinations within Australia following dispatch.
