PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The Straw Bed captures a gentle morning within a traditional farm barn, where a litter of Yorkshire piglets gathers upon a generous bed of golden straw bathed in warm early sunlight. While several piglets remain peacefully asleep, nestled together in quiet comfort, others stir with youthful curiosity, climbing over their resting companions or pausing to investigate the world around them. One inquisitive youngster stands at the edge of the group, nose lowered toward the straw as if discovering each new scent beneath its feet, while another balances contentedly atop the sleeping litter, adding a playful sense of movement to the tranquil scene.
The weathered timber walls, stacked hay bales, and open barn doors frame a timeless rural interior, while brilliant sunlight streams through the entrance, filling the space with a soft golden glow. This behaviour helps conserve body warmth while reinforcing the social bonds that develop from the earliest days of life. Throughout the history of livestock farming, clean, well-bedded barns have provided a safe and sheltered environment where young animals can rest, recover, and thrive, protected from changing weather and other environmental stresses. Yorkshire piglets are particularly noted for their calm, sociable temperament, making these quiet moments of companionship a familiar sight on traditional farms. Our fine art and canvas prints are produced to order, allowing each piece to be carefully prepared and checked before leaving the studio. We use Australia Post for all domestic and international shipping, with delivery times varying according to destination, carrier demand and customs process where applicable. As we are based in Western Australia, delivery typically takes approximately 2–4 business days within Western Australia and 3–6 business days for interstate destinations within Australia following dispatch.
