PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The Spring Frolic captures four young Angora goats racing through a meadow bright with spring growth. Their small bodies are shown in different stages of movement: two bound forward through the grass, another stretches into a light-footed leap, while the central kid rises upright upon its hind legs. Together, their lifted hooves, changing postures, and tightly curled fleeces create a lively sequence across the composition. Although each youngster follows a slightly different direction, their movement remains visually connected, conveying the spontaneous energy of a shared game.
Clear morning light illuminates the kids from behind and to the side, tracing warm highlights along their soft white curls. Their coats stand out against fresh green grasses scattered with purple flower spikes, white daisies, and delicate seed heads. Dark timber fencing gives structure to the middle distance, beyond which gently rolling paddocks and tree-lined hills fade into a softer haze. The contrast between the animated figures and the settled rural landscape brings warmth and balance to the scene, preserving a brief moment of exuberance at the beginning of the pastoral year.

The Angora goat (Capra hircus)
The first fleece produced by a young Angora goat is known for its exceptional fineness and softness. Commonly described within the textile trade as kid mohair, it is generally more delicate than fibre taken from mature animals and is particularly suited to lightweight garments, fine yarns, and fabrics worn close to the skin. As the goat ages, the fibre usually becomes broader, changing the types of textiles for which it is best suited.
Producing sound juvenile fleece depends upon healthy early development. Adequate nutrition supports both physical growth and continuous fibre formation, while protection from illness, parasites, and severe weather helps prevent interruptions within the coat. Young goats must also develop balance, coordination, and confidence as they begin navigating pasture with the herd.
Running, jumping, climbing, and playful sparring contribute to this process. Such activity strengthens the limbs and allows kids to practise the movements and social signals used later in life. The lively behaviour of spring youngsters therefore represents more than youthful exuberance: it marks an important stage during which physical development, herd awareness, and the first valuable growth of mohair progress together.
