The Samoyed originated in the Arctic regions of northern Siberia, where it developed alongside the Samoyedic peoples who depended upon these remarkable dogs for survival in one of the world's most demanding environments. Over countless generations, the breed became an indispensable partner in daily life, assisting with reindeer herding, pulling sleds across vast snow-covered landscapes, guarding camps, and even sharing family shelters during the long polar winters. This close coexistence fostered the gentle, sociable temperament and deep affinity for people that continue to distinguish the breed today.
Unlike many working dogs bred for a single specialised purpose, the Samoyed evolved as a truly versatile companion. Its thick, weather-resistant double coat, exceptional endurance, intelligence, and willingness to work enabled it to thrive in extreme Arctic conditions while maintaining a close partnership with the communities that relied upon it. Our fine art and canvas prints are produced to order, allowing each piece to be carefully prepared and checked before leaving the studio. We use Australia Post for all domestic and international shipping, with delivery times varying according to destination, carrier demand and customs process where applicable. As we are based in Western Australia, delivery typically takes approximately 2–4 business days within Western Australia and 3–6 business days for interstate destinations within Australia following dispatch.
