PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The Royal Sentinel presents the quiet elegance of a royal-blue Halfmoon Betta gliding through a luxuriant freshwater aquascape. Suspended effortlessly amongst sweeping driftwood, broad-leaved aquatic plants, and delicate ferns, the fish commands attention through both its vivid colouration and graceful form. Rich sapphire-blue scales shimmer beneath softly filtered light, while the expansive Halfmoon tail unfurls into an almost perfect semicircle, creating a striking display of balance, symmetry, and movement.

The Betta or Siamese Fighting Fish (Betta splendens)
Native to the shallow wetlands, rice paddies, floodplains, and slow-moving waterways of Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, and neighbouring parts of Southeast Asia, the Betta has evolved to survive in warm, oxygen-poor environments. An unusual labyrinth organ allows the species to breathe atmospheric air, enabling it to thrive in habitats where many other fish cannot.
The Halfmoon Betta is one of the most celebrated achievements of modern ornamental fish breeding. Developed through decades of careful selective breeding, the variety is distinguished by its spectacular caudal fin, which spreads to approximately one hundred and eighty degrees when fully displayed. This dramatic tail shape established a new benchmark for exhibition Bettas and remains one of the most sought-after forms among breeders and enthusiasts worldwide.
Beyond their remarkable appearance, Bettas are renowned for their intelligence and individual personalities. They readily recognise their surroundings, investigate changes within their environment, and often respond to regular interaction with their keepers. Combined with their extraordinary diversity of colours, fin forms, and patterns, these qualities have secured the Betta's place as one of the world's most iconic and enduring freshwater aquarium fish.

As we are based in Western Australia, delivery typically takes approximately 2–4 business days within Western Australia and 3–6 business days for interstate destinations within Australia following dispatch.
