Set within the rolling green countryside of Wales, this portrait follows a Pembroke Welsh Corgi through the three stages of its life. The Pembroke Welsh Corgi developed in the rural farming communities of Wales, where generations of stockmen relied upon a small but remarkably capable dog to move cattle across fields, village lanes, and open pasture. Despite its modest stature, the breed possessed the confidence, agility, and determination required to manage livestock many times its own size. Its low-set build allowed it to nip at the heels of cattle before quickly ducking beneath an incoming kick, making it exceptionally well suited to the practical demands of everyday farm work.
Although its precise ancestry remains uncertain, the Pembroke Welsh Corgi shares longstanding connections with the ancient herding dogs of northern Europe. Over centuries of selective breeding, it evolved into an intelligent and highly responsive working dog, valued not only for its stock-handling ability but also for its adaptability and close partnership with farmers. The breed became renowned for its quick thinking, keen awareness, and willingness to work independently when required, qualities that enabled it to excel across the varied landscapes of the Welsh countryside. As we are based in Western Australia, delivery typically takes approximately 2–4 business days within Western Australia and 3–6 business days for interstate destinations within Australia following dispatch.
