PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The Grand Orandas presents three magnificent Oranda Goldfish gliding through the clear waters of a beautifully landscaped freshwater aquarium. Suspended amongst aquatic plants, weathered driftwood, rounded stones, and fine gravel, each fish displays the distinctive rounded body, flowing fins, and prominent fleshy head growth that have made the variety one of the most admired in ornamental fish keeping. Their graceful movements and poised arrangement create a composition filled with quiet elegance and presence.
Soft natural light filters through the water, illuminating brilliant shades of orange, white, and calico while revealing the intricate texture of each scale and the velvety contours of the characteristic wen. Gentle currents stir the surrounding vegetation, adding movement and depth without distracting from the commanding beauty of the fish themselves. Warm golden highlights, rich greens, cool greys, and crystal-clear water combine to create a refined underwater palette that celebrates the remarkable form, colour, and enduring appeal of one of the world's finest fancy Goldfish varieties.

BACKGROUND AND HISTORY
The Goldfish (Carassius auratus)
The Oranda is one of the most celebrated fancy Goldfish varieties, recognised for its rounded body, elegant finnage, and distinctive fleshy head growth known as the wen. Although its precise origins remain uncertain, the variety was refined through centuries of selective breeding in East Asia before becoming highly regarded by ornamental fish enthusiasts throughout Europe and beyond.
The development of the wen is one of the Oranda's defining characteristics. As the fish matures, this specialised growth gradually enlarges across the top of the head and cheeks, giving each individual a unique appearance. Combined with long, flowing fins and a broad range of colours and patterns, the Oranda has become one of the most recognisable and sought-after fancy Goldfish in the world.
Today, Orandas are bred in numerous colour forms, including red, red-and-white, calico, chocolate, blue, black, and panda varieties. Their gentle temperament, graceful swimming style, and distinctive appearance have secured their place as one of the classic achievements of ornamental fish breeding, representing centuries of careful selection and dedicated husbandry.
