The Garden Symphony is a vibrant celebration of life within the traditional farm garden, capturing the cheerful bustle and colourful diversity of a mixed heritage flock at the start of a new day. At the heart of the scene stands a proud bantam rooster, perched atop a moss-covered stone wall like a tiny monarch surveying his kingdom. His rich golden plumage glows beneath the first rays of morning sunlight, while below him an assortment of hens and bantams scratch, forage, and explore among flowering borders, winding garden paths, and patches of fresh greenery. The composition is filled with gentle movement, each bird contributing to the quiet rhythm of a thriving country homestead.
A beautifully patterned Silver Laced Wyandotte, a soft buff Silkie, rich chestnut layers, and other heritage birds each bring their own distinctive colours, textures, and personalities to the gathering. Warm sunlight filters through the broad canopy of mature trees, illuminating weathered fencing, old garden tools, moss-covered stone walls, and the distant timber barn beyond. BACKGROUND AND HISTORY
The Bantam Chicken (Gallus gallus domesticus), Bantam's are miniature versions of domestic chickens, often measuring only a fraction of the size of standard breeds. Despite their smaller stature, they are renowned for their confidence, intelligence, and surprisingly bold personalities. Many bantam roosters exhibit the same protective instincts and leadership qualities found in much larger birds, making them beloved additions to small farms and backyard flocks. Historically, mixed heritage flocks were the foundation of family farming. Rather than maintaining a single breed, farmers often kept a variety of chickens selected for egg production, broodiness, foraging ability, hardiness, and visual appeal. This diversity created resilient flocks capable of thriving under a wide range of conditions while contributing to pest control and garden health. The flock depicted here reflects that rich agricultural tradition. Each bird brings its own unique characteristics, colours, and behaviours, yet together they form a harmonious community. This piece celebrates the beauty of diversity within the farmyard and the enduring role chickens have played in sustaining rural households for generations.

As we are based in Western Australia, delivery typically takes approximately 2–4 business days within Western Australia and 3–6 business days for interstate destinations within Australia following dispatch.
