The Busy Brood captures the joyful energy of a newly hatched flock of domestic ducklings as they discover the sights, sounds, and textures of the farmyard for the very first time. Gathered beside a shallow muddy puddle beneath a weathered, moss-covered fence, the tiny birds explore their surroundings with boundless curiosity and youthful confidence. The Domestic Duck (Anas platyrhynchos domesticus) descends primarily from the wild Mallard and has accompanied human settlements for thousands of years. Highly adaptable and remarkably versatile, domestic ducks have long been valued for their eggs, meat, pest-control abilities, and efficient foraging habits. From their earliest days, ducklings display an instinctive attraction to water. Even the smallest puddles become places of exploration, learning, and comfort. Water assists them in feeding, swallowing grain, cleaning their bills, and developing the behaviours that will serve them throughout their lives. Their natural curiosity and constant activity make them one of the most engaging sights on any traditional farmstead. Across countless generations of rural life, broods of ducklings have become enduring symbols of springtime, renewal, and the simple rhythms of the homestead. This piece celebrates their lively spirit and the cheerful energy they bring wherever they wander.

We use Australia Post for all domestic and international shipping, with delivery times varying according to destination, carrier demand and customs process where applicable. As we are based in Western Australia, delivery typically takes approximately 2–4 business days within Western Australia and 3–6 business days for interstate destinations within Australia following dispatch.
