The Azure Spear is a breathtaking celebration of speed, precision, and the untamed energy of the open ocean. Suspended just beneath the sunlit surface, a magnificent Striped Marlin slices effortlessly through the deep blue water, its elongated bill leading the way with the elegance of a finely crafted spear. Brilliant shafts of light ripple across its sleek metallic body, revealing flashes of silver, cobalt, and steel-blue as the fish moves with remarkable efficiency through the pelagic realm. The Striped Marlin (Kajikia audax)
The Striped Marlin is one of the most celebrated billfish of the Pacific and Indian Oceans, renowned for its exceptional speed, endurance, and spectacular aerial displays. Perfectly adapted for life in the open ocean, its streamlined body, deeply forked tail, and elongated bill enable it to pursue fast-moving prey with remarkable efficiency. During feeding, the marlin often uses its bill to slash through dense schools of baitfish, stunning individual fish before circling back to feed.
Highly migratory by nature, Striped Marlin travel thousands of kilometres between feeding and spawning grounds, linking distant marine ecosystems across entire ocean basins. Their brilliant iridescent blue stripes become especially vivid during hunting, courtship, and periods of heightened excitement, creating one of the most striking visual displays among pelagic fishes. Revered by marine biologists, divers, and offshore anglers alike, the Striped Marlin has become an enduring symbol of the power, beauty, and freedom of the open ocean.

The Striped Marlin (Kajikia audax) is currently classified as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List, reflecting its extensive global distribution across tropical and temperate waters. Despite this overall assessment, important regional populations have declined as a result of commercial longline fisheries, targeted harvest, and incidental bycatch. Because the species undertakes extensive migrations across international waters, its conservation depends upon coordinated management between many nations and regional fisheries organisations.
Management bodies including the Indian Ocean Tuna Commission (IOTC) and the Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Commission (WCPFC) oversee catch limits, monitoring programs, and bycatch reduction measures designed to promote sustainable fisheries. Recreational anglers have also contributed through widespread tag-and-release programs, improving scientific understanding of migration routes, growth, and survival. We use Australia Post for all domestic and international shipping, with delivery times varying according to destination, carrier demand and customs process where applicable. As we are based in Western Australia, delivery typically takes approximately 2–4 business days within Western Australia and 3–6 business days for interstate destinations within Australia following dispatch.
