The Aviary Oasis captures life unfolding throughout a richly planted aviary where several canaries occupy different levels of the composition. One drinks from a moss-lined water basin while others rest upon branches, observe from elevated perches, or interact quietly amongst the foliage. The scene is alive with detail yet remains balanced and harmonious. Sunlight filters through hanging vines and broad-leaved plants, creating patches of illumination that guide the eye from bird to bird. Bright yellows, soft whites, muted blues, and naturally patterned plumage create a varied colour palette that celebrates the diversity of the species. The water feature provides both a visual anchor and a sense of movement, bringing the entire environment together.

The Domestic Canary (Serinus canaria domestica)
For centuries, the aviary has represented one of the most natural and rewarding environments for keeping Domestic Canaries. Unlike the traditional image of a single bird in a cage, spacious communal aviaries allow canaries to display a far broader range of natural behaviours, including flocking, courtship, bathing, foraging, and the complex social interactions that contribute to their wellbeing. These enriched environments more closely reflect the active lifestyle of their wild Atlantic Canary ancestors while providing birds with the space to fly, exercise, and establish natural routines.
Aviaries have also played an important role in the history of canary breeding. Housing multiple birds together has enabled aviculturists to maintain diverse bloodlines, carefully manage breeding pairs, and preserve the remarkable range of colour, song, and form that has developed over centuries of selective breeding. Today, responsible aviary management continues to promote both physical health and behavioural enrichment, ensuring that these elegant songbirds remain active, confident, and socially engaged. The thriving communities found within well-designed aviaries stand as a testament to the enduring partnership between dedicated bird keepers and one of the world's oldest and most celebrated companion bird species.

Our fine art and canvas prints are produced to order, allowing each piece to be carefully prepared and checked before leaving the studio. Production and dispatch times may vary depending on the print format, size and finishing requirements selected. Please refer to the individual product page for any specific production timeframes.
We use Australia Post for all domestic and international shipping, with delivery times varying according to destination, carrier demand and customs process where applicable. As we are based in Western Australia, delivery typically takes approximately 2–4 business days within Western Australia and 3–6 business days for interstate destinations within Australia following dispatch.
