Mirror of the Sands captures a peaceful moment beside a secluded desert oasis, where a magnificent grey Arabian pauses to drink from perfectly still water. With its head lowered and ears gently forward, the horse creates an elegant silhouette reflected almost flawlessly upon the glass-like surface below. Framed by clusters of date palms, flowering reeds, and weathered sandstone formations, the oasis provides a striking contrast to the sweeping dunes that rise beyond. Warm afternoon light washes across the landscape, revealing delicate textures within the horse's silver-grey coat while soft ripples spread gently from the water's edge. BACKGROUND AND HISTORY
The Arabian (Equus caballus) life within the Arabian deserts has always revolved around one precious resource: water. Oases formed vital refuges where travellers, livestock, and wildlife could recover before continuing across immense expanses of sand and stone. Horses capable of enduring long intervals between reliable water sources became invaluable to the Bedouin, and generations of careful selection favoured animals that could withstand extreme temperatures while maintaining strength, composure, and endurance.
Although all horses require regular access to water, the Arabian developed exceptional resilience within arid environments through efficient use of energy, heat tolerance, and an ability to remain active under demanding climatic conditions. Combined with a naturally hardy constitution and economical movement, these qualities allowed the breed to accompany people across landscapes where survival depended upon careful planning and environmental knowledge. The Arabian's enduring association with the desert reflects not only physical adaptation but also an intimate understanding of one of Earth's most challenging ecosystems, where horse, landscape, and human survival became inseparably connected.

We use Australia Post for all domestic and international shipping, with delivery times varying according to destination, carrier demand and customs process where applicable. As we are based in Western Australia, delivery typically takes approximately 2–4 business days within Western Australia and 3–6 business days for interstate destinations within Australia following dispatch.
