PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Bengal Kids captures a quiet family moment beneath the broad canopy of a mature village tree. Resting comfortably upon a carpet of fallen leaves and soft green groundcover, a Black Bengal doe watches calmly over her three young kids. One youngster stands close to her shoulder, another nestles against her side, while the third leans gently across her back, creating a close-knit composition centred on security, companionship, and maternal care.
Filtered light passes softly through the branches overhead, revealing delicate highlights across the family's glossy black coats, where subtle tones of charcoal, warm brown, and soft grey emerge within the shadows. The Black Bengal goat (Capra hircus)
One of the defining characteristics of the Black Bengal goat is its exceptional reproductive performance. Does frequently produce twins and triplets, enabling village families to expand their herds more rapidly than many larger goat breeds. Combined with comparatively early maturity, this high reproductive rate has made the breed especially valuable to smallholder farmers seeking dependable livestock under modest management conditions.
Young kids grow quickly while learning to browse alongside their mothers. During their first months they develop balance, agility, and familiarity with the diverse vegetation found around village landscapes, gradually becoming efficient foragers capable of thriving on a wide variety of local plants. This early adaptability contributes to the breed's long-standing reputation for resilience within humid tropical environments.
Breeding programmes also recognise the Black Bengal as an important genetic resource because of its fertility, adaptability, and natural resistance to many local diseases and parasites. Preserving these inherited characteristics ensures that future generations retain the qualities that have allowed the breed to remain one of South Asia's most productive and dependable indigenous goats for centuries.

Our fine art and canvas prints are produced to order, allowing each piece to be carefully prepared and checked before leaving the studio. We use Australia Post for all domestic and international shipping, with delivery times varying according to destination, carrier demand and customs process where applicable. As we are based in Western Australia, delivery typically takes approximately 2–4 business days within Western Australia and 3–6 business days for interstate destinations within Australia following dispatch.
