Aquarius portrays the immortal cupbearer Ganymede as he fulfils his eternal duty among the gods of Mount Olympus. Standing beside a tranquil marble basin framed by flowering terraces and ancient colonnades, Ganymede gently pours the sacred waters from an ornate ceremonial vessel into the fountain below. Behind him, cascading aqueducts and waterfalls weave through the landscape, while the constellation of Aquarius shines beneath the pale blue presence of Uranus high in the clear celestial sky.
The composition centres upon the graceful act of giving rather than conquest or power. Draped in flowing robes of white, soft blue, and royal violet, Ganymede stands with calm purpose, his expression composed as the endless stream of water descends into the crystal-clear pool before him. Intricate silver ornamentation, luminous gemstones, and finely crafted ceremonial garments reinforce his honoured position among the Olympian gods. Delicate clusters of purple orchids soften the surrounding marble architecture, while climbing vines reclaim the ancient columns, blending civilisation and nature into quiet harmony.

Aquarius is the eleventh astrological sign of the zodiac, representing those born between January 20 and February 18.
Governed by Uranus, with Saturn recognised as its traditional ruling planet, Aquarius belongs to the element of Air and has long symbolised innovation, wisdom, humanitarian ideals, and the sharing of knowledge for the benefit of others.
In Greek mythology, Aquarius is associated with Ganymede, a prince of extraordinary beauty from Troy. According to ancient tradition, Zeus carried Ganymede to Mount Olympus, where he was granted immortality and appointed cupbearer to the gods. His role was not simply to serve divine nectar, but to represent eternal youth, generosity, and the continual giving of life-sustaining gifts to both gods and humanity.
This artwork honours Ganymede not as a captive, but as the immortal Water Bearer whose vessel continually pours the waters of life. The flowing fountain symbolises abundance freely given, while the surrounding temples, aqueducts, and flourishing gardens evoke the harmony between civilisation and nature.
